Pediatric Associates of Dayton has board certified experienced pediatric doctors and nurse practitioners who provide personalized care for our patients’ needs. Our medical staff is trained to help babies, young children and teenagers up through age 21 or upon completing their higher education, with their healthcare needs.

DrRoer

David L. Roer, MD

David L. Roer was raised in the Catskills of New York. He has lived in Dayton since 1980. He attended college at State University of New York at Binghamton and graduate school at The Ohio State University. He received his M.D. degree from Wright State University and did his pediatric residency at Dayton Children’s Hospital. He and his wife, Jenni, have two daughters and live near Centerville.

John M. Rahe, MD

John M. Rahe was raised in Cincinnati, OH. He graduated from Miami University in Oxford, OH and received his M.D. degree at the University of Cincinnati. He did his pediatric residency at Indiana University. John originally practiced in Kentucky and Tennessee. He lives with his wife, Sharon, and their three sons in Centerville.

Linda M. Meister, MD

Linda M. Meister was raised in Cleveland and has lived in Dayton since 1981. She received her Bachelor’s degree at Kenyon College. She received her M.D. degree from Wright State University and did her pediatric residency at Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Jennifer M. Conlon, MD

Jennifer M. Conlon was born in Dayton and raised in Loveland, Ohio. She received a B.A. from the University of Norte Dame and went to medical school at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Her pediatric residency was completed at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus Ohio. She previously practiced medicine in Portland, Oregon and Wilmington, Ohio. She lives in Wilmington with her two daughters.

Jennifer Feldman, MD

Jennifer Feldman was raised in Columbus, OH. She received her bachelors degree from Miami University and her M.D. degree from Wright State University School of Medicine. She did her pediatric residency at Dayton Children’s Medical Center. She, her husband, Heath, and their three children live in Springboro.

Shalini A. Ryan, DO

Shalini Ryan was raised in Dayton, Ohio. She received her undergraduate degree from University of Michigan and her medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Akron Children’s Hospital. She and her husband, Jon, have 2 children. They reside in Bellbrook, Ohio.

Elizabeth A. Darkwa, MD

Elizabeth A. Darkwa was born in Accra, Ghana. She obtained her medical degree in the School of Medical Sciences, University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. She completed her residency at Dayton Children’s Hospital. She, her husband, Ebenezer, and their two children live in Kettering.

Maria Pilar Hanson, MD

Maria Pilar Hanson is originally from Madrid, Spain. She obtained her Medical degree at the Universidad Autonoma Madrid and completed her residency at Dayton Children's/ Wright State University where she also served as Chief Resident. She and her husband, Troy, have 2 daughters and live in Centerville.

April A. Bunn, MD

April Bunn was raised in Troy, Ohio. She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and received her medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Dayton Children’s Hospital. She and her husband, Justin, have three children and live in Beavercreek.

Ramya Keshavaram, MD

Ramya (Keshavaram) Edwards was raised in Englewood, Ohio. She did her undergraduate training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She received her medical degree from The Ohio State University and completed her pediatric residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She and her husband, Michael, currently reside in Englewood.

Debra A. Rill, RN, CPNP

Debra Rill was raised in Dayton. She received her Bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and her master’s degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She and her husband, Bruce, live in Washington Township.

Emily Hendrickson was born and raised in Michigan and has lived in Ohio since 2001. She received her Bachelor’s degree from University of Cincinnati and her master’s degree from Wright State University. She and her husband, Josh, have three children and live in Springboro.

Theresa Ackerman, APRN-CNP

Theresa Ackerman is a family nurse practitioner who graduated from Spalding University in Louisville, KY in 2016. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she was an RN for 10 years. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her dogs. She is a member of Southbrook Christian Church where she volunteers with the children’s program.

Sue A. Karnitis, MD

Sue Karnitis grew up in Northeast Ohio. She earned her B.S. in Business Administration and her M.D. degrees at The Ohio State University. Dr. Karnitis then completed her Internship and Residency in Pediatrics at The University of Virginia. Tennis, beekeeping, gardening and horseback riding are her favorite hobbies. She and her husband, Joe, live in Xenia and have four children.

Grace E. (Nikolai) Nitting, APRN-CNP

Grace Nitting was raised in Dayton, Ohio. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton and earned her master’s degree from The Ohio State University. Grace resides with her husband in Washington Township.
